bj's sells a 20 pack of these small bread rolls that they call "crusty rolls."
i like them, but by the time you get them home and onto your plate, you'll realize something. the crust isn't that crusty. in fact it's actually quite soft. that won't do! luckily i have a trick for this
first i get a little bit of water in one of my hands, then i roll one of the rolls around in it until the outside is completely wet. you don't wanna soak it all the way through, but you do want the crust covered. then i stick it in my toaster oven at 300 degrees for somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes.
when it comes out, it has a nice crust that isn't too hard or crunchy but still has a satisfying bite to it, while being hot and steamy on the inside as well.
...
i came up with this trick myself and i'm quite proud of it.
